A Kings’ wrath is bad news

Narrator: The next day, in the audience chamber, waiting for Rehoboam's answer. Rehoboam: MEN OF ISRAEL. My little finger is thicker than my father's waist. Now my father burdened you with a heavy yoke. But I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips. I will chastise you with scorpions. Assembly members: What? No! no! We can't take any more. The levies are too much as it is! What'll we do? We can't take this! Its' so unfair! Men of Israel! I'm OUT OF here! Yeah! Me too!

1 Kings 12: 12 – 14
